St. John's has a variety of activities for the children and youth of the parish, including religious education classes, the Ethnic Dancers, the youth group, and summer Bible school. Children of all ages  participate in the St. Nicholas pageant, the Halloween party which is held in conjunction with G.C.U lodge #109, and the Family is Love tureen dinner and talent show.
Young men in the parish can also serve as altar boys.
Each year there is a breakfast reception for the First Holy Communicants and their parents, and for the graduates from the church, There are also attendance awards given to the children in the religious education classes.
The youth group holds meetings regularly, as well as holding their own fund raisers, such as the soup sale, cemetery flower sales, and sales at the Easter bake sale. They also maintain a small "store" of religious articles in the church basement, as well as working as a group to help maintain the cemetery. This year they held a cheregi sale to raise funds to attend the first Byzantine Catholic Youth Rally, which was held in Uniontown. Our church had one of the largest groups of teens attend from any parish!!
The Ethnic Dancers practice regularly, and perform for church functions and community events such as the Butler Ethnic festival.
Father Dennis is very active with the children and youth of the parish, and has really made our young people a top  priority!!
